Introducing Rewrite Your Site, the Website Copywriting Program You Didn't Know You Needed

Erin Ollila Season 4 Episode 171

Your website needs a complete rewrite. The homepage rambles. Your services page doesn't actually explain what you do. Your about page feels stiff and awkward. Maybe you have way too much content, or maybe you don't have nearly enough.

But here's the bigger problem—you have no idea where to start. Do you rewrite the homepage first? Fix the services pages? Add testimonials? Create individual service pages? The whole thing feels like a massive, tangled project, and you're stuck wondering which thread to pull without making everything worse. So you close the tab and tell yourself you'll deal with it later. But later never comes.

If that's you—if you've been staring at your website feeling overwhelmed and stuck—this episode is for you.

Today I'm opening enrollment for Rewrite Your Site, my 8-week group program that helps you confidently write website copy that sounds like you and actually converts.

This isn't another course you'll buy and never finish. It's a structured, supported program where you show up, do the work, and eight weeks later you have a complete website you're proud of.

In this episode of Talk Copy to Me, I'm walking you through exactly what's inside the program, how it works week by week, who it's for (and who it's not for), the Early Bird bonuses available through November 27th, and why I believe you can write your own website copy—you just need the right guidance, accountability, and editing support to get it done.

Your website has been on your to-do list long enough. Let's finally finish it together.

There is so much that needs to change on your website. Maybe it's that the headline isn't clear on your homepage or your services page rambles. It could be that your about page feels stiff and awkward. You have no social proof. No secondary services pages, or quite honestly, it could be the opposite, that you have way too much content on your pages, but basically something's happening and that's just that the whole thing feels. Off and it doesn't represent your business in the way that you hoped your website would. But where do you even start to fix it? Do you rewrite the homepage first, fix the services pages, add testimonials, create individual services pages for each service you offer, or each product that you have. The whole thing feels like a massive tangled project, and you have no idea on your own which thread to pull without making it worse. Right? And I can tell you website copy projects. Are tangled projects, and if you just close the tab and decide you're gonna deal with it later, what will happen is later will never come. Now, if that's you and you've been staring at your website, feeling overwhelmed and stuck, if you've been hearing me talk these past handful of episodes about website improvements and not really knowing how to step in and make that better, today's episode is for you. Today I'm opening enrollment for Rewrite Your Site and I will walk you through exactly what is inside of the program during this episode. Talk about how it works and whether or not you should join if it is right for you. I created this program because I believe something that is not too popular in the marketing or copywriting world. And I've said this many times in this podcast, but I will say it today, loud and proud. I believe that you can write your own website copy. Yes, I know I'm a copywriter. I, I don't think I'm limiting myself because there are going to be people that will hire me to write copy for them because that is just not where they want to invest their time, their energy into right now in their marketing. That's great for them. They can hire me to do that work for them. But there are so many business owners out there for various reasons that are choosing to write their own copy. Again, it could be an investment issue, right? Maybe they do not have the funds to spend five, six, $7,000 on a copywriter and the same on a website designer all at once. It could be that they maybe have just changed their services or maybe their audience has shifted. It could be that they have finally honed in on, on who they serve, what they offer, and what their messaging is. Or it could be they just don't know their messaging at all, and they're trying to figure it out. But I believe that they can write their own copy without necessarily needing to hand it off. Why? Because what you actually need is help organizing your thoughts, systemizing the process. Developing a marketing strategy and then someone who can guide you through the actual process of doing it and edit your work as you go. You know your business better than anyone else ever could. You know your business way better than a copywriter ever could. You know your clients, you know what they struggle with. You know how you can help them. That knowledge is already in your head. You just need help getting it out in a clear and strategic way. What you need is a thought partner, someone who can help you see what is working and what is not. Someone who can give you a framework so that you are not reinventing the wheel. Someone who can look in your copy, maybe that you've already created, or maybe that you are about to, to create and say, this is really great. You should keep this, or Let's build upon this thing that you are doing here that's working so well. Or they can say, this is really confusing, but I can tell you how to clarify it. This flow isn't working. Let's move things around. So the message is easier for the reader. You need someone who can help you finish instead of just stopping, uh, and starting a hundred times over again. And that is what I do. That is what I can help you do. I can help you organize your thoughts. I can create a system for you to write your website copy, and more importantly, to take all that copy you eventually write and use it in different areas of your marketing, like email. Social, but we'll, we'll get to that later. I can help you do the work, stay on track. And the beauty of this is as an editor, I've worked in the publishing field while I've only worked in the marketing field for about 12 years, which is a long time. I know I've worked in the publishing field for over 20 years at this point. So, and I have my own literary journal that I co-founded that is an award-winning literary journal. So I can help you edit all of the work that you've done, all of the copy that you've written, and even more important, I can help you get to the end point so you can launch a site that actually works, a site that you're proud of. Because I am honestly so tired of seeing really talented business owners feel embarrassed about their websites. You do incredible work. Your clients love you, but you're apologizing for your site every time you share it. And that has to stop. You deserve a website that really represents the quality of your work, and I wanna use my skills to help you get there without it taking six months of time to finish on your own or costing you a fortune in the process. And because of this I built rewrite your site to be exactly that structured, supportive, strategic, and allowing you to rewrite your site within eight weeks while you have expert guidance the entire step of the way rewrite your site is an eight week group program that runs from January 6th through February 28th. Every week you will get training videos and templates that will walk you through exactly what to write, there will be weekly coworking calls where you can work on your site and we can do that together in real time. There will also be office hours where you can pick my brain, ask me questions, and we can workshop. Whatever you're getting stuck on, there will be a Slack community so you can share your drafts with , the other people who are working through this, if you so choose or just ask questions as you're working through things. You see, rewrite your site isn't a course that you buy and then never finish. It is a structured program where you show up, you do the work, and then guess what? Eight weeks later you have a complete website that you feel incredibly proud of. One that is clear, strategic and actually converts the visitors into clients. And as a bonus, I, I just mentioned this, but as a bonus, you'll learn how to repurpose that copy into things like emails, your social media, post sales calls. So you get way more out of your website than just the words that go on it. But let's talk about who this is for, because I want to make sure that you can self-select whether this is right for you. This program is for you if you're a service provider, creative or small business owner who has been putting off your website for far too long. If you truly want to write your own copy, but you need help organizing your thoughts and making sure it's strategic, if you are willing to show up and do the work and receive feedback, and if you're ready to just stop putting disclaimers when you introduce yourself to business or stop apologizing for your site, when you share it in a referral post, let's say on social media, I want you to have something that you finally really feel proud of. This program is also for you. If you have tried to rewrite your website on your own before and got stuck, you know, maybe you've stopped and started a bunch of times. Maybe you have a whole folder worth of copy that you can pull from, but you have no idea if it's any good. Uh, maybe you've just got to the point where you have changed and adjusted so many times that you don't even trust yourself anymore to know whether it is good or bad. This program exists so you don't do it alone Now. I should say who this program is not for the, obviously, I hope this is obvious, but this program is not for someone who wants someone else to write their website for them. It is a done with you program. So my role here is to provide the experience, the expertise, the strategy, the accountability, and then be able to step in once you've done the writing, and provide the editing to improve on your writing. Yeah. That might mean that I'm hopping into your draft and I'm rephrasing some of the things you say. That might mean that I'm completely suggesting like a whole paragraph, or I am giving you headings that just, you know, come outta my mouth and sound great and you choose to use them. But I'm not doing the copywriting for you. I'm your guide. I'm your consultant, I'm your strategist, and I'm your editor. And obviously this program is also not for someone who can't make the time to do the work. I planned this, so it would be beginning in January because I'm hoping that with the start of the new year, you able to allocate time to focus on your business, marketing yourself. And you can pre-plan that now, we have December as a pre-party so that you can actually get started if you want to. But do know that's optional. You do not have to come in into our, co-working and office hour sessions in December. If you are too busy or too overwhelmed, you just need to show up once January starts and do the actual work. In saying that, I should also say it's not a quick fix, right? Like this is thoughtful strategic work. It takes effort, it takes some rumination, but it will also serve you in the long run. The people who thrive in this program are capable, they're committed, and they're ready to finally just get this done with the right support. So let me walk you through what actually happens week by week. It's an eight week program that runs in four phases. Phase one is foundation. During our December pre-party, which again is completely optional, we will get a head start. You'll have some access to pre-work around research and offer clarity because the goal here is just to give you a running start if you want it, but zero pressure if you just want to wait until you have more space to do the work. When we do start in January, week one is about messaging and story mining. This is where we build your foundation. You'll clarify who you serve, what you offer. What makes you different and how you want to sound on your site. We'll also pull out stories in detail from from your work that will make your copy feel more authentic and human instead of just generic and corporate. By the end of the first week, you will have a positioning statement, your key brand messaging pillars, your brand voice guidelines, and a collection of stories that you can use while writing the site or even elsewhere in your marketing. Phase two is the high impact pages they take place from weeks two through four. Week two, we're gonna do your homepage and your contact page. We will start with those pages 'cause they have the biggest impact on whether people convert or bounce. You will create a homepage that makes it immediately clear what you do and who it's for, and a contact page that guides people to take action. Week three is your services page, and that's where you get really clear on your offers, your value, your next steps. We'll help you communicate what you do in a way that feels confident, not desperate, not apologetic, just clear and showcases expertise. Week four is about your about page. People dread writing their about page because it feels awkward and self-promotional. But we will turn your story into something that is strategic. It will be a page that builds trust and positions you as an expert without feeling like you're bragging, but still bragging. Like we want you to be, we want you to brag on your about page just in a way that feels good. When this is all done, we move into phase three, which is completion and refinement. Week five. I have purposely built in as a catch up week. If you're behind, you can use this time to continue writing those three pages. Well, four, I guess I should say, if you are ahead, you can refine what you've already written. If you're right on track, you can take a breather if you want. That's totally fine. Or get even, get even more ahead of the group. The week exists so you don't feel like you're constantly racing to keep up. Weeks six and seven are for your supporting pages and polish. This is when you're building out whatever other pages your site needs. Things like secondary services pages, resources pages, speaker pages, uh, portfolio pages, FAQs, podcast pages, whatever. We'll plan this ahead of time during onboarding, but that's when you'll do the completion. And I put it over two weeks because I honestly think you'll be able to start powering through these pages, but it's gonna take a little more than a week to do so, which is why the end of that week is for Polish. You'll do a full pass on your entire site to make sure everything feels cohesive and polished, and by the end of week seven, you'll have a complete site. Not almost done, not good enough, but. Done, actually done. Which brings us to phase four, which is launch and beyond. In week eight, the party's not over yet.'cause in week eight we are doing launch planning and copy repurposing. Your website is about to go live. So we're gonna plan your rollout strategically, how you announce it, what you say, how are you gonna make sure that people actually see your new website and keep coming to see more? We'll then take all of the copy that you just wrote and repurpose it for other things like. Social media post how to talk about things that you say in your about page during email sequences or sales conversations. How you write podcast pitches based on some of the things that you have on your site. Discovery called tricks, as well as content pillars for building out more of a, a more complex, diverse marketing strategy. You're not walking away from this program with just a website. And that's really what I wanna drive home. You are walking away with a messaging system that has a foundational element, and that foundational element, of course, is the website, but the whole structure here is intentional. Your website is a system, so we build it in a strategic order foundation first. High impact pages supporting content, and then a strategic launch with possibilities for repurposing. Each piece builds on the one before it. Now, if you join me soon, you are getting access to early bird bonuses that I am really excited about. During this initial launch, which started today and is going to go all the way through the end of the day on Thanksgiving, which if you don't happen to be in the US is Thursday, November 27th, this cart will be open, so the cart closes on midnight on the 27th of November. And because I'm always weird about that whole am PM thing.

What I mean is after 11:

59 PM on the 27th of November, you will be able to join, but you will not be able to get any of the early bird bonuses that I am about to share with you.. So the whole point of what I'm trying to say is if you join us before the end of the day on the 27th, you get three awesome bonuses, which are. Which are so good that I feel like the value just there is, is practically equal or more than the cost that you're paying for the program. So bear with me and I'll tell you what those bonuses are. Bonus number one is an onboarding strategy session that is in depth. This is the key to absolute success here. We'll meet for a 90 minute one-on-one call before the program even starts. In this call, I'm gonna give you total clarity and confidence about what you need to create. It will be a custom roadmap for your website and marketing and brand messaging. I should probably point that out here. I want you to start the program ignoring exactly what you need to focus on instead of guessing. So. I will create a roadmap for you. I will give you an actual deliverable. We'll do our call and then you will get a document where this is outlined for you. The pages, the site map, what goes on the pages. Some of the key things you'll have to do during research are concentrate on for messaging. So you're getting slightly done for you to kick off your done with you work. The second bonus is the launch prep and site review call. So once this is all done after the eight weeks, I want you to schedule an additional strategy call with me. Right before you launch a new site, we're gonna hop on a call together. I will review everything like physically on your site. We will fine tune your launch strategy and you'll be able to go live knowing that your site is polished and ready. And bonus number three, I am also pretty excited about that is website promotion. I am gonna feature your new website to my engaged community of business owners and creatives, people who are actively looking for services like yours, instant exposure to potential clients. I will do this by sharing your site on social media, creating a blog post that links out to your websites and talks about who you are. What you offer, as well as having some individual members come on the podcast and I can talk about the great things that you do and the great work that you've created on your site. Again, remember, those three bonuses are only for people who enroll during this early bird phase if you join after that, you can still enter the program for the January start, but you're not gonna have those bonuses, available to you. Let's talk investment. Rewrite your site cost for this initial round, $2,500. You can pay in full or you can do three monthly payments of $835. Here's how I want you to think about this. If your website has even cost you one client this year because it is unclear or outdated, this program has likely already paid for itself. Because remember, your website isn't just costing you clients. It's affecting credibility, your pricing, and how hard your sales calls are. It's how people refer to you and how effective all the other marketing will be because when your website works, everything gets easier. So. Go to the link in the show notes to find the sales page for rewrite your site. You will see the full details. Again, if you're just hearing this, you might need, you might say like, I need to just see those written down. Okay, cool. It's there. You'll see the details. You'll see your options for payment. You can register, I will send you in information about scheduling your onboarding calls, how you can join us during our December pre-party times. And then we start January 6th. So eight weeks. That is all it takes. By the end of February, you're gonna have a website you're proud of and messaging that works across your entire business. Just to end, you know, if you've been thinking about fixing your website for a long time and you open your site, or you open up, you know, a blank document, but feel that level of overwhelm like so much needs to change, but where do I even start? This is your chance to finally do it in a supportive atmosphere. Not alone, not guessing, not starting and stopping a hundred times. You will have a clear plan, expert guidance, and a community of people who are doing the same work... I want you to start 2026 with a website work or obviously not get too far into 2026 with a website that doesn't. I want you to have one that attracts clients that you want, one that you are excited to share instead of apologize for. I do not want it to be March. And you still be sitting there and think to yourself, yeah, I really need to update my website, and nothing has changed. I want you to make 2026 the year it happens. So I've talked to you long already. If you have any questions before you join and I mean any questions, send me an email or send me a message on Voxer. The email is support at erin Ollila dot com and Voxer is just at Erin Ollila. I would rather spend time talking you through whether this is the right fit for you before you make a choice than have you sign up if you're not sure, because I want everyone who enters to feel really confident in their decision. Alright, enrollment is open, the link is in the show notes, and I hope I'm gonna see you and rewrite your site soon.
